Fabric Rolls
Our fabric rolls are rather old but have never seen any use at all. They were hand woven in rural Transylvania between the 1940’s and 1970’s using yarns that were available at the time in that area: this means a variety of natural fabric compositions, mostly hemp, but often including percentages of cotton and linen. These textiles were made as a dowry or simply as a “family investment”. Occasionally lengths would be cut to fabricate sacks, but whatever has made it to our days in the form of a roll has never seen been used.
